JASON HILL
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Jason brings over 25 years of leadership experience in New Zealand’s and Japan’s tourism industry. Previously senior leadership roles include Head of Auckland Tourism, Regional Manager for Tourism New Zealand in Tokyo, and GM Marketing at Christchurch Tourism. He started Tourism Talent in New Zealand and Australia in 2018 seeing a market for specialised executive recruitment in the tourism sector.

Jason’s has served on the boards of the Association of National Tourism Organisations (ANTOR Japan), Tourism Bay of Plenty, Auckland University of Technology School of Tourism & Hospitality advisory board, Pacific Asia Travel Association, and NZ Cruise Association. He also pioneered the PATA Global Insights Conference and the student chapter at AUT.

TROY CLARRY
DIRECTOR

With over 20 years managing top hotels across Asia for Hyatt International and Ritz-Carlton Hotels, including in Japan, Bali, China, New Zealand, Saipan, and Taiwan, Troy brings a wealth of hospitality expertise. His career began in Food & Beverage management, where he steadily advanced through the ranks. Specializing in hotel openings, Troy played lead roles in launching over 10 properties across Asia and Europe.

In his last role in Japan, Troy served as GM for Bulgari Hotels & Resorts – Tokyo Restaurants, where he led operations for the brand's Japan portfolio, including a Michelin-starred restaurant, cafes, boutique chocolate production, and event venues.

Since returning to New Zealand in 2013, Troy founded Katalyma Hotels and Hospitality, acquired Whangaparaoa Lodge, and added Kerikeri Park Lodge in 2017. He also serves as a board member of Hospitality New Zealand, chairs the Accommodation Association NZ, and is an advisory board member at Crown Institute of Studies.
